Vantage VMS, in the field.
The EdgeTrace iOS app connects to the Vantage VMS instance you already run, over your VPN, and puts it in the field: search every camera from a native map in plain language, watch live and archived video, and follow detections in real time. Footage never leaves your network.

Everything Vantage VMS does, where the work happens.
Search from the map, anywhere.
Ask in plain language across the whole camera fleet and watch ranked detections drop onto a native map. Draw an area, filter by object or plate, or dictate the query by voice while you move.
Watch the call unfold.
Open any camera to live video with a real-time detection leaderboard. New matches animate in the instant a person, vehicle, or plate appears on a feed.
Case work from a phone.
Scrub archived footage on a real coverage timeline with gap-merged ranges and playback-speed control. Jump straight to detections and review a multi-live grid without a desk.
AI and body cam, native.
Run generative AI entirely on the phone, and capture body-cam recordings with a native flow. Both stay on the device until you choose to act.
One phone. The whole investigation.
Natural-language map search
Freeform detection search across every camera, plotted on a native map with a crop thumbnail for each result. Updates as you type.
Live & archive playback
Live video and archived footage over any recorded window, streamed securely from your instance. Coverage timeline, playback speed, and a multi-live grid.
Live detection leaderboard
Per-camera and cross-camera detections stream in live with a connection-state badge and a 'New' arrival animation. Tap any detection for image, bounding box, and confidence.
Area, object & plate filters
Refine results by drawing a lasso, polygon, or radius on the map, multi-selecting cameras, or filtering by object type, confidence, and fuzzy license-plate search.
Voice dictation
Dictate detection searches straight into the map search bar with native iOS speech, hands-free when you cannot type.
Secure sign-in & biometrics
Secure single sign-on with two-factor through the same flow as the desktop, plus Face ID and Touch ID unlock and a group switcher for multi-group accounts.
On-device generative AI
An on-device AI assistant that runs entirely on the phone. Nothing you ask and no footage leaves the device.
Native body-cam capture
Record body-cam clips with a native iOS flow and a library badged by new-recording count. An iPhone-native capability with no desktop equivalent.
Three steps. Your own instance.
Connect
Put the phone on your VPN so it can reach the Vantage VMS instance you already run, then sign in with secure single sign-on and two-factor. Trust your appliance once, then unlock with Face ID.
Search the map
Ask in plain language across the full camera fleet. Ranked detections plot on a native map with crops; refine by area, object, confidence, or license plate.
Act in the field
Open a camera for live or archived video, follow the live detection leaderboard, and capture a body-cam clip, all from the phone, all against your own instance.
Common questions about Vantage Field.
Is Vantage Field available now?
Vantage Field is in beta. It connects to your existing Vantage VMS instance and is available to current EdgeTrace customers who want to put live monitoring, map search, and case work in their team's hands in the field. Request access through your account contact or a briefing.
Does the app keep video on-premise like Vantage VMS?
Yes. The app is a client for your own Vantage VMS appliance, not a separate cloud. It talks directly to your instance over your network, footage and search indexes never leave it, and the same access controls and audit trail apply to what an operator sees on a phone.
How do operators sign in on a phone?
Through the same secure single sign-on and two-factor flow as the desktop client, so existing accounts, groups, and two-factor policies carry over unchanged. After the first sign-in, operators can unlock with Face ID or Touch ID, and accounts in multiple groups get a group switcher.
What can a user do in the app today?
Browse the live camera fleet, watch live and archived video with a coverage timeline and playback speed control, search every camera from a native map in plain language, draw an area or filter by object type, confidence, or license plate, and follow a live detection leaderboard. There is also on-device generative AI and a native body-cam recording flow.
Is it on Android?
The current beta is a native iPhone app, iOS only. Android is not available yet. Let us know during a briefing if Android matters to your deployment so we can weigh it in the roadmap.
Does it need anything special on the network?
The device needs to reach your Vantage VMS instance, typically over your VPN, and it must trust your appliance. Detections and video stream directly from your instance, authenticated with your session, so no footage is proxied through EdgeTrace.
