SAN MATEO, Calif. — November 13, 2025 — EdgeTrace today shared an update on its security and compliance program as adoption accelerates among law enforcement, critical infrastructure, and enterprise security teams.
EdgeTrace is progressing through a SOC 2 Type II audit and has expanded its CJIS-aligned controls, including role-bounded access, comprehensive audit logging, and automatic redaction of faces, license plates, and bystanders. The platform uses FIPS-validated cryptography and hardware-rooted identity, and clip exports are hash-signed with verifiable lineage suitable for court.
Key elements of the program:
- Chain of custody — every query and export is signed and timestamped
- On-prem by default — footage and indexes never leave the customer network
- Air-gapped option — fully isolated deployments for the most sensitive environments
- No model training on customer data — customer footage is never used to train models
- Quarterly third-party penetration testing — now a standing part of the release cycle
"In this market, trust is the product," said a member of the EdgeTrace team. "Custody, data sovereignty, and the realities of CJIS aren't features we bolt on — they're the constraints we build inside of."
About EdgeTrace
EdgeTrace builds AI video intelligence for public safety. The platform unifies an agency's entire camera network into a single, searchable index, letting investigators and real-time crime center analysts ask questions in plain language and return ranked, timestamped results in seconds — with chain-of-custody preserved from query to courtroom. Indexing runs on-prem on an EdgeTrace appliance, with air-gapped deployments available for environments where footage can never traverse the public internet.
